Poor light, pretty little birds.
These are uncropped originals.

Both are good shots. The first is tack sharp. I really like it. The second is a little busy with all the twigs in the background, but still a good capture.

Anyone know what kind of bird this is in the second shot? I have not seen this one before.

Thanx Kerry, that one is a white throat sparrow.

That is a nice looking bird. The way the colors form at the top, they give it a very intense look. :)

yeah, almost a startling contrast between a drab coloured body of a typical grassland sparrow, and a very vividly coloured head. That's one of our nicest looking sparrows I think.....a good size too, and a fine flute-like song to boot.:)

Uncropped, then you have an excellent close up shot of these very small birds.
Even though it's poor light conditions you have done very well to get good natural colour.
Well done.
