Hey everyone, Great shots, i can't wait till it warms up some to get outside with mine. I have a question for those who have the ef 70-200mm f/2.8l is usm. I have this lens also but is it worth getting the ef 85mm f/1.8 as a prime? or is my 70-200 good enough since it already has the 85mm covered? I am just kinda wondering, I have been told it would be a waist of money since i already have a lens that will cover that. I want to know your opinions. Right now i have the ef 24-105mm f/4L IS USM, and the ef 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM.
I have both, and use both. As mentioned, for indoor sports in particular, the extra 1 1/3 stops of light are nice to have, especially as a 7d shooter not wanting to use ISO much over 2k. It's also nice just for the light weight and small size- walking around, I don't always want to have the big zoom dangling from my neck. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love my 70-200, and wouldn't sell it for the world, but there are times I put on my 85 instead.
