How cost of a 2.0x Kenko extender? (can work for Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 L USM)

I may decide to use 70-200mm f/2.8 L USM + a 2.0 extender to take wildlife and birding photography.

Canon 100-400mm is very good lens for people who take sport, wildlife and birding photography frequently. But i will waste much money if i buy it but don't use it frequently. If i already have 70-200mm f/2.8 (probably I will buy one by this summer), 70-200mm f/2.8 + a 2.0x extender will be good enough for people who don't take sport, wildlife and birding photography frequently? I hope so

I think the only drawback to this lens is lack of IS- for wildlife, that can be slightly limiting, as wildlife shooting often involves less-than-ideal lighting. The 2.8 aperture helps, but if you're going to be using a 2x (in your post above) you want to keep it at f/8: 5.6 really isn't that sharp. It maybe not quite as sharp as the IS mk2 version, but unless you're strongly pixel peeping I doubt you'll notice. I'll post a few samples in a sec.

I'd just say the newer the better- UB is 2013, UA is 2012, UZ is 2011, UY is 2010... etc.

a few wildlife samples w/ 2x mk2 on 7d:

both SOOC (JPG conversion by LR5), ISO 800. Squirrel @ f/8, 1/1250, Red Panda @ f/5.6, 1/640. These are 100% crops:
