Hi guys,

So since the holidays are coming up and i've raised enough money I am able to buy a 70-200 f/2.8L non IS lens with a TC. I have tried the 70-200 non IS with the 2x MK3 at my local photography store on a 5D2 and found it was quite good for a 2x convertor. Problem is, now that I think if it, I was using quite high ISO on the 5D2. My XS has ISO 1600 max which is quite limited. So let's say I would be shooting at 1/20 or so, would my photos be blurry and really bad quality? I forgot to test the limited ISO 1600. In May I should be upgrading to a 50D but until then i'm stuck with ISO 1600. My main use of the 70-200 would be for aviation at the airport/airshows. Would it be hard to be zoomed at 400mm with no stabilization and still get decent shots?

Just making sure before I buy anything, the 70-200 is decided just not the convertor. And yes I know f/5.6 would be my F-Stop with the 2x.

if sample photos could be posted it would be appreciated.

Some from the weekend.

First time used since Canon supposedly re-calibrated it to my camera as it wasn't focusing correctly at all focal lengths. When I got it back from them it was still on +4 (same as when I took it in). Asfter some testing at home I had to re-set it. These were +10 but seem to be the same at all focal lengths at least.

Just realised it's in the wrong thread as well. Should be the Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM

Havent had a real chance to test it out properly but here is a pic I took testing its sharpness,I was hoping for better results although the only thing I have to compare it with is my 300 2.8 and I know that is not fair,I love the bokeh though.

Some great shots in here...just found an ad for a 70-200 2.8L for $750. Seems too good to be true. No pictures on add. Following up carefully. They also claim to have a 580 EXII for $325. Thought I would offer $1000 for both and see what happens. Seller claims to be switching to Nikon...
