Just been up to the Isle of Mull in Scotland for a few days and managed to spend a few days getting close enough to take some pictures. It took 3 days to get close enough and I think it was worth it.
This is an adult female with it's cub.
Taken with an EOS20D and 500 f\4 + 1.4 Extender.

Excellent shot.
I have only seen them in zoos, our local wildlife park (SLWAP) has otters some of which live with the bears and bully them. One pair has just had three young, one of them having a very light coat, not dark like its parents or the two other young.
Thanks for sharing.

Well done. Very tough to catch. There's some near me but I've never seen them.

Fantastic capture - what time are they active? some have been spotted on the river near here and I would love to get the chance to photograph them.

It was very much worth it, waiting to get such close up shots of the Otters.
The last time I went up to Mull, it was very misty and I got nothing. Well done.

Great job with these otters. Crisp, clear and nicely composed.

A great photo of an otter is always worth the effort. And this is certainly no exception.

It's Not Fair!!!

I was in Mull for a week last month, and although I got to see plenty Deer, a couple of Golden Eagles and a white tailed eagle (The eagles were to far to take decent pics of) but I didnt see one single otter, which was what I had hoped to see.

Anyway rant over with....Great pics I love them, at least I can see I have seen Mull's otters now:D :D :D

Very nice overall; I wonder if it would look better with a little more contrast.
