This is a very poorly written article... Sure it has figures and graphs but the article as a whole sounds like some college student's project report. Did Markins actually publish this to promote their products?

So for now, its the best we have and no too bad a read. A lot of his points are very valid even if the data might not be... [Gear List | Flickr

I can only assume this is because modern shutter curtains run vertically. My Photography Home Page

The write-up is not that great because it is a means to an end, but might be of interest: http://www.zen20934.zen.co.uk …/Kirk%20L-Plate/index.htm Some tests with a light pod (Some of the ones with the 300+2X need to be repeated): http://www.zen20934.zen.co.uk …/Tripod%20Tests/index.htm All this probably needs more work when I have the time. You've got some really interesting stuff in there. I wish I were back at school for the access to data acquisition equipments - I'd love to do some of the tests on my own. It is quite likely something is lost in translation. Jim

It is basically done for my own interest and edification, but I make it available for other in the hope it is interesting. Hopefully there are not too many spelling mistakes.
