Happy friday folks.. this weeks theme is going to be showing age.. as it's about fun and sharing but mostly about getting out and shooting.. For those that are just joining in You have until sunrise on Saturday until sundown on Sunday the limit is two photos and the compositions are completely up to you.. we give a little bit of direction, get the ideas turning and the rest is up to the photographer.. Have a good time can't wait to see what y'all come up with..

Yippeeee ... I'm first

First shot shows three generations shopping for flowers in the city centre.

Pentax-M SMC 50mm 1.4

Second shot is an aged wall near my place ... again showing multiple generations! Enough said ;)

I love the textures on that wall, condyk! Great shot, and great choice to go B&W :)

Only one from me this week - I had planned to snap another one tomorrow, but it doesn't look like I'm going to get a chance.

This old tractor is off in a paddock that I drive past on the way to work. I don't think it's moved in a while :)
To be honest, I didn't try for the setting-of-the-sun metaphor, blah blah blah, it just turned out that way.

The Enterpirse, showing it's age, but gracefully. It looks like a large Lego up close. People there yesterday couldn't believe that was the real thing, it looked so plastic, they said. But it is majestic and wonderful. Properly named for the t.v. show. NASA is retiring all the space shuttles in 2010 for the new ships that will be using other kinds of technology and can actually get man onto the moon and beyond. Because Discovery is going into space this week, I thought you'd like to see the "original" shuttle. It don't look too shabby.:D

Ummm, "Old" Glory?

Spotted on a boat in the harbour today, a long way from home.

Great shots so far. I really like that pic of the tractor Mat. I have a busy day ahead of me so I am planning on getting my shots tomorrow. Can't wait to see what else everyone comes up with.

Great tractor shot Mat (You know my weakness for machinery:)). And I like how you used the barbed wire to give an impression of distance.

Anyway, I was aiming for a "Sepia" style image, without having to do the Sepia Thing in Photoshop, so I chose objects that were all brownish, and used candlelight as my sole light source. I think it kinda looks aged...

20D, 35mm f/1.4L, 2 seconds @ f/4. ISO 100. Lighting was candles only. Photoshop. Straight RAW conversion + increase brightness, then unsharp mask + frame.

This is my first photo post on the site. It's a vintage fire truck our local fire department keeps for display.

My contributions

An old house, now converted into a new tesco's. (well...the bit next to it is, the house itself will become a starbucks). The house itself is over 100 years old, and has been a garden centre for the last few decades. In 10 days, the tesco will open, and a starbucks will open soon after that - a model of capitalism on a single property :D
