Not exactly sure what to do. I am planing on just using a bag of some sort and a rubber band to attach it to the end of the lens, any thoughts?

Thats all I could think of too.. I think they actually sell "coats" for cameras for cases like this.

Make sure to bring a big umbrella too

Once, I saw someone with a hat that straps onto your head with an umbrella attached to it, so you and the camera are always under the umbrella (unless you tilt your head sideways). It looked kinda funny, but it sure works, and is the least obtrusive method.

hey, I found an image of something like it on the net...

I've never done a rain shoot (because brides usually don't want to stand in the rain...) but I'd consider this, even though it looks kinda funny.

take a 1 gallon zip-lock baggie put your camera with lens(with a UV filter on it) inside it and zip it up, next put your lens hood on and cut out the part that is over the filter and your camera is water ressitant. I can post pics if you need. It works well i have done it for dusty and wet conditions.

I use bathroom wastebasket liners and rubberbands in a pinch. But if you want to buy something, Kata makes rain hoods for DSLR's.

I have a cover for my camera when it's raining hard. I use a shower cap when it's just a little drizzle. Those hotel shower caps are way easy to use.

I would actually LOVE to have the occasion to shoot a wedding (or a portion of it) in the rain
I think the light would be awesome, and some very interesting shots would come out without a doubt.
As far as camera protection, you can always improvise. Plastic bag would do fine. Not like you have to do it every weekend... unless you live in Great Britain :D

Rainy days can be cool, so long as you have umbrellas. Here's a few rainy day venue shots from the first wedding I ever shot.

Here's a few from a more recent wedding, a random grab bag, not the best just ones I saw one quick look. I made the puddle, it wasn't just there.

okay.. sorry, have to say it. I love that you made a puddle..(how did you make a puddle?) absolutely makes me think that some of my more unusual behavior is actually pretty moderate... great photos by the way, as usual....

I recon adverse weather only means more creativity, cant be a bad thing.
Photography is about using whats available and capturing the image to the best of your ability. Provided you have done this you cant go wrong..

Look at Tims puddle and reflection as an example of good creativity.
Dont you just wish the puddle had been bigger??

Great work dull days provide great light.

Regards

Paul

it kind of bugs me that the picture cuts off her head. But not that much. I will bring some pics of my last wedding tomorrow. It rain out so bad, but the front lawn of the Plantation was illuminated and I got some amazing storm pictures. Of course I had to practically swim from the main house to the car for batteries and misc gear.
