I have the 20D and I was taking the pics from the card and put them in a file on my computer, I checked the file before I deleted the pics from my card, but now they are NOT there. The folder is there, but its empty, and there is nothing on my media card...is there ANYTHING I can do?

TIA!

Yes.

First do NOT save anything on the card.

Then find a file recovery software. You can find lots of free file recovery software via google. Use keyword like "undelete files" or "recover files" etc.

EDIT: Or You can just get the software Bluedog_XT links to.

Don't panic but don't take more pictures right now. Get the software and run it and recover what can be found.

Neat software Bluedog. I loaded it and opened a presumed empty microdrive a friend gave me and found it had some pics on it, thanks.

Good deal _ hope it wasn't anything he didn't won't anybody seeing > ;) ... I've never had to use this software but after seeing members recommend it here in the past I've got a copy saved if I do ever need it.

Thanks for that Blue, works great. Just tried it on an old card and got heaps of pics, stuck it back in the camera and re-formatted and the app still found all the pics. Wiping the card now to see if it'll find anything afterwards.

haha, i always wipe my cards before i let people borrow them. I use IBM SDD (Secure Data Disposal) wiping software.

Cool software tho. Does it work for large hard drives too? For data recovery.
