Weather dry, only 10 minutes of sunshine, but warm and dry - yes DRY! The Sunday of the BTCC is very hectic for me. I walk miles carrying a lot of gear, and it gets tiring on the legs and feet by the end of the day. Never mind, I managed to get what I needed from the day. The Touring Cars were not as good as they have been in earlier years. Bring back the production class and pit stops I say.

I'll start with a couple of rear shots. The Seat Cupras always lift a wheel on hard cornering:

The grid has some interesting rear shots too:

And some that like to show off:

Driving standards left a lot to be desired, as the start of race two demonstrated:

One of my favourite people in racing - Mike Jordan:

Some Formula BMW:

And Harry Vaulkhard getting it all wrong at Old Hall (I predicted this one):

I have a lot more to post, but bedtime calls, so watch out for part two.

Harry seems to enjoy a drive in the country, so the prediction wasn't that difficult. The marshals at Old Hall now think I am some form of racing guru, as well as being an accident magnet. Unfortunate choice of sponsor as well.

Nice capture of Turkington going onto two wheels Ken. Lots of good action at Oulton from what I saw on Motors TV. Really didn't fancy the crowds and the traffic to go live!

Ah Mike Jordan. He's a proper racing driver, what is he doing slumming it in the BTCC?

Some very nice shots here Ken. The Formula BMWs down the start/finish straight I particularly like.

Nice shots Kenny.

Watching one of the BTCC races on Motors I couldn't believe the amount of "cement dust" that was flying about

I only saw coverage on ITV, that dust seemed to hang around for AGES! I saw a clip of what caused it in the FBMW race and about 10 cars all slid off, despite frantic oil flag waving from the marshalls  Chaotic to say the least :p

Some info before I move on to posting part 2. All the grid shots were done with fill-flash. All the rest on this page were with a 300mm 2.8IS and 1.4TC.

I agree with Glenn, Mike Jordan is a real racing driver, and not only that, he is a genuine very nice person who is well liked on and off track.

Dave, I was spotted at least three times on TV, now getting quite famous for my impromptu appearances. But, my claim to fame (or shame) is where my photogrpahs could be found at Oulton Park, apart from the program, they were staring you in the face in the gents. Now, I have always thought it would be nice for my work to be framed and hung in public (bad choice of phrase), but finding them in the loo came as a bit of a surprise.

Here is one last shot for this thread - Will Bratt passing under the flag to win the Formula Renault race:

 Not quite the National Portrait Gallery, but I suppose it's a start!

Congratulations on your additional exposure!

I've seen your work in the program Ken, they look really nice, but i managed to avoid using the facilities on sunday.

Let's hope you don't get bogged down with work
