CFn 4-3 on the 20D. Anyone know why the * button locks focus and exposure in one shot mode and evaluative metering when every other scenario of metering options, drive options and servo options in CFn 4-3 results in the as expected * button locking focus and no exposure locking capabilities?

Although you won't be in CFn 4-3 for a one shot portrait type shot I'm curious whether this is a bug or whether there is something about evaluative metering that Canon decided warranted the * button to function differently to all other CFn 4-3 options.

Ah good work Rene. Hopefully Canon is acting on the feedback or at least Chuck could/can push it through.

So now a question for 30D users - when in CFn 4-3, evaluative metering, one shot mode does pressing the * button lock both focus and exposure? If yes this a departure from the way the 20D, 1 series bodies work and back to the way the 20D works.

Thanks
