Howdy,

Newbie to the forums here, just getting (re)started with photography and tieing it into some more current hobbies...

I was working on getting motion blur, and playing with a polarizer this weekend.

These are straight outta the camera, I don't know anything about post processing. Right now I'm working on my basic techniques.

I'd love to hear comments & suggestions!

Mark

Howdy,

One more... Obviously the framing is crap, but I was kinda going for the "super pan". Out of maybe 30 attempts, I got this one and perhaps one other...

Howdy,

Btw, equipment here is a Rebel XT w/Canon 28-200 zoom on a monopod. I'm hoping to pickup a Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 sometime soon.

great shots. Do you drive as well, or just photograph?
I auto-x and am learning to photograph the cars too.

Howdy,

So, I just read the stickied thread from KennyG regarding AF points...

I'm wondering what folks thoughts are on using a right of center AF point for the first two shots? Do you think its compositionally better to get the car emblem on the front of the car in perfect focus or the numbers/class letters?

Again, I'm new, so I'm working on getting my compositional eye to work better, my basic techniques to work better, etc. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Just wanted to say these are very well done, especially for a first try. Good panning and composition. If possible, try to get the space in front of the car and not behind (like the vette shot). Looking forward to seeing more.

I like the old golf lifting the rear tire. Good first attempt for sure. BTW, I've been very happy with my Sigma 70-200 2.8. It's a great lens if you can't go all out on the Canon L.
