People, remember: You pay peanuts -- you get monkeys... or whatever. When a card is priced far far below current market value it is either 1) stolen; 2) 2nd hand; 3) fake... Not that some idiots will pass off fakes at the current market prices ;-)a

When in doubt, buy from trusted ones like B&H, or any other merchant that the forum members can vouch for.

John;)

Thanks for reply,

Sorry I posted the wrong link, the link I meant to post had actual pictures of the card and carry case, CD and box. But that's ended now ;)

Thanks anyway!

I've ordered one from kerso :) Easy!

(But its wierd, as had I not known he was reliable, I would have thought it was a scam, as there are no real pictures of the item and he uses a seperate email address from ebay to communicate!) But reading all of the positive feedback for him makes me reassured.

I have spent thousands with Ian (Kerso) and believe me he is a 100% rock solid trader.

Oh yes! I don't doubt that he isn't a 100% reliable seller! I'm actually feeling relieved :)

First of all, hello folks. I was wanting to pick up a Sandisk Ultra II card and had wondered about the cheap ones on ebay being fakes, I'm glad I came across this thread. I was wondering if someone could recommend a UK retailer that does them at a good price. Thanks in advance.

here is the answer of the seller

Hi! Very sorry for the inconvenience!
Please try yourself to solve it out. We should make sure that the item is faulty before we suggest you to send it back.
If you are sure that you have done in the right way and it still can’t work, please send it back to us for checking and leave a note (your name/buyer ID /item number /the matter) to tell us the details. Please send the item with a box packing it and do not send accessories, this will save your postage.
The return address:
---------------
******
China
---------------
please don't send it by any express like UPS, FEDEX or DHL ect, please send it by your national post office(its express is ok) and please mark the value under 20 US Dollor, otherwise you should be reponese for the custom fee of China.
as stated in the description on the item, buyer should return the item on his own cost.
it takes about 2-3 US dollor to send it back.
we appreciate your understanding.
When you send out your item, please let us know the return day and the tracking number .
Any question, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Thanks.

paypal is aware of the problem now, do you think i should try to send the card back ?

eBay is a freaking joke. Time and time and time and time and time and time and time.....AGAIN, we hear people getting screwed on eBay.

Buy only from proven sources.

That is my story and I am sticking to it.

AMEN, BRAVO, PREACH ON BROTHER, YOU BETCHA, SOLID, WORD, LEHAIM...

i used to buy tons from ebay about 4 years ago when it was still alright. now, everytime i search for items, all i get is either stores or scammers. also, every single time i post something for sale over there, i get someone emailing me and telling me that they will pay me $5000 extra if i will ship it to nigeria and let them pay via western union....

SCREW EBAY!!!

oh btw, instead of buying cards from ebay, why not go with newegg? i just got a 4gb cf card (ridata) 150x and it is actually faster than my 2gb ultra II. the best part is, it only cost me $98...

I've been an Ebayer for quite sometime also and I jsut tend not to by from "overseas" where I see alot of these SD/CF cards are located for a extremely cheap price.

Hello,

I've been looking into getting a new CF card for my camera. I've been looking on eBay and see all the great prices. After doing some research I see most of them are fakes. It seems the fake ones do not have any serial numbers on them. If I asked the seller for the serial number on the card and he gives me one and it seems legit I should be ok?
