Yesterday I received my 1DMKII and all I can say is WOW! But the deal was I had to sell the 85L to help pay for the camera. I notice I seem to be getting more consistant results with the 1D than my previous cameras.
Anyway hopefully in time this lens will find it's way back to my camera bag.

Dan

Glad you got the beast Dan,you will not regret it even if it cost you the 85.
Consistant results ? oh yes baby, all the time.
I shot a Greek Christenning and my rate was around 97% keepers.
Have fun with it,(i`m sure you will).

Thanks Dimitri, what little I got to use it I really like. My only gripe is having to use two fingers to change the ISO with your left hand ( half of my middle finger is gone  )

Thanks Paul and Stan for the nice comments.
It was tough to get rid of the 85L but better that than the 400L which I enjoy for birding.
The 85L is a "mystical" lens with an almost magic power when you get the sweet spot but the keeper ratio is lower at least for me. I fired off about thirty shots with the 1D and the 85L and I could notice the difference using the 1D. So if this is what to be expected with my other lenses boy am I a happy camper.

Well I just made my first "DOH" in the learning curve of this camera, image quality was on "L" but when I downloaded the files they were less than a meg. Went into settings and
J peg image quality was only at a 3 out of 10....LOL
No wonder why they loaded so fast...
