Hi All,

I am just moving to a new place and these were taken at a local lake. I followed this bird for ages watching it with this fish. It didn't seem to be able to swallow it. I think it was a case of its eyes were bigger then its... throat.

Any CC would be greatly appreciated.

Shots taken with Bigma at 500mm. ISO 400

4. Trying to get it down

5. Maybe some water will help it slide down

Some nice captures, Marty. I've not seen an egret try to swallow such a large fish before. I like the last three action shots and #5 above the rest because of the great reflection. Cropped close to the bird and rotated vertically it would make a puzzling abstract. ;-)a
Swallowing a fish that wide looks to be "Mission Impossible" for that egret.
Thanks for sharing.

Ron

Thanks for the comments Ron. I agree i dont know how he ever thought he would get that down. Unfortunatly after following him for 40min or so i had to go and was not able to see what finally happened.

Thanks for the comment PAS (and for the fish id i ad no idea what it was)

LOL, I was thinking the same thing about the size of that fish.

Great series!

Good series of shots, and you have captured the moment, just in time for the Egrets lunch. That's one big fish to swallow.

Numbers 3 and 4 are great and Irather like the first one as well. Its a little dark but it certainly makes the shot dramatic. Nice

Thanks for looking. I saw the reflection and thought it might add to the shot. good thing the water was still :)
