Very good but the focus is not 10/10, maybe 8/10. Yeah, its hard focusing at 1.4 :p

Any time you shoot with a lens with paper thin depth of field, the focus will be tough....

That's a great shot!
Her skin looks a bit too yellow, maybe it's the lighting.

I agree- a wonderful shot. This photo really shows how lovely the bokeh this lens creates. Nice.

I agree on the focus. Assuming you were about 10 feet from her your DOF was about 12 inches, 6 in front, 6 behind. The background is really quite nice as is the composition. Nice job.

Thanks everyone for the positive feedback!

I am realy improving on my post processing for portraits, thanks in large part to fello members tutorials in the "Post Processing and Printing" section.

I agree Annies hand is not in focus, however at 2.5 DOF is rather shallow and the focus is on the face where it should be. We were on a street absolutly bathed in hundreds of colored neon lights so it was a challenge getting the whites and skin tones to work out.

I titeled it 50mm 1.4 in refernce to the lens, not the actual apeature. Sorry for any confusion. Actual setting was f/2.5

I am a big fan of the 50mm focal legnth myself as well as low-light available light no flash photography. The 50mm 1.4 is really a strong lens and has even replaced my 50mm 1.4 Super-Takamur that I loved using on the EOS.
