I like the shots too:D

I notice you have a problem with pans that I used to have , higher apertures above f11 to give the slower shutter and the dust becomes much more visible.

Thanks for comments!

The dust problem: I don't really see except for the #2 Audi, where I see three black splotches. The thing is, I met a guy at the track and we got to talking, and he let me use his 70-200 L IS USM lens, and I think thats where the splotches are from. It's only on a couple of shots, not all of them, so I'm hoping it was his dirty lens and not my camera.

If thats not what you were referring to, please enlighten me, as I am new to this and would like to improve.:)

Yes predominantly on the first audi pan and last shot posted , a few large but some smaller less visible ones too , most likely to be on your sensor . do you have a bulb / rocket blower ? you could take a shot of the sky at f22 and it will show you more clearly.

Okay, I'll try that tomorrow. Thing is... this is the very first time I've used this camera, it's fresh outta the box. If there is dust on the sensor already, I'm gonna be very seriously irritated....

Thanks for the suggestions. Keep'em coming!:)

Most of them come with dust on the sensor straight out of the box. Fact of life with dSLRs I am afraid.

Nice shots everybody. Haven't started sorting mine yet, hopefully a few keepers out of everything I took.

Was there a big sale on L glass I missed? Usually at Mid-Ohio I only see three or four people (besides myself and the press shooters) with it. These last two days it seems like every third person with a camera had the good stuff.

Yeah. no kidding! I've never had Lens Envy so bad in my life! I finally made the step up from Point&Shoot to my Rebel w/Tamron 28-300, I was all proud of myself, then some very nice fellow let me use his L lens and I have a case of "the wants" again. Does it ever stop?
