Is this a Racer? He's about 4 ft long - fast as lightning, very docile - loves to climb trees and look in my office window at me while I work. Taken with the 100 macro.

Personally, I would not have used the 100mm macro. I would use a much longer lens so I could stand way, way far away. You are much braver than I am! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Cool, It looks like a rat snake and I remember reading about the black variety, and if you read about their behaviour, there's something about them climbing tree's well enough to hunt.. There's also the black mountain king snake, but they have different color paterns around the head that is closer to a pale yellow and instead of solid white belly scales, it's more of a speckled patern. What region are you in.
