Just found out that my favorite animal died last week of a believed stroke.

Post your best photo of Nisha. I guess we all expect we will have plenty of time to capture a shot. So shoot now as you may not get a second chance.

Here is my only good photo of Nisha. Taken a couple weeks ago when she was unwell

Oh that's so sad. I hope she didn't suffer much.

That's a lovely photo Weka, you can see she was unwell though. Something about the eyes.
Hope you get some more lovely shots of her here,

:D

Goodbye Nisha...

It is such a shame, she had a new enclosure being built, and a mate on the way to start a breeding program.

This photo was taken on GKPE1 in August last year. Shame about the strong sidelighting, and I didn't have a lens hood so most of my photos had bad flare, but this one came out OK. I always thought I would go back and get some better photos of Nisha, but when I went to the zoo a few weeks back she was sick, and hidding away at the back of her enclosure.

some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:

Nishas sister is going to be brought up from Hamilton zoo to replace Nisha at Auckland zoo and to breed with the male that they are trying to save up to bring over.

Talking to one of the zoo people and Nisha died of cancer. I mentioned that we as a group may have some photos they seemed quite intrested.

Good on Hamilton zoo, I guess they will get 1 of the litter. Lets hope they breed :)
