Clark Street, Chicago

Ever taken a photo that you didn't like at all, but someone else thought was great? That's the case with this one. I personally can't stand this image, but a friend of mine liked it enough to want a print of it.

Obviously, there was post processing done with this, which is one of the reasons I don't like it. I'm not usually a fan of selective coloring.

I'd appreciate any input as to what makes this work, if you think it does.

I like it. The selective color doesn't do anything for me in this case.

The only thing I'd change is the FedEx truck...I would at least get rid of the logo on it to avoid any copyright issues if you try to sell this one.

I'd like to see the true B&W conversion. I'll bet that would look great.

Here's the original conversion. Thanks for the feedback so far. I don't know, I'm trying hard to see something in it. I think what bothers me is the washed out sky. I don't know why I didn't think of cloning out the FedEx. To be honest, I don't think I even noticed it until you mentioned it, JaertX. Thanks for the heads up.

That looks better to me. To me, the FedEx truck makes it feel real.

In the first pic, the eye is immediately drawn to the yellow car. That is what appeals to those who like it - personally I find it ok, but would like the yellow to be muted a bit. In the black and white pic, the focus becomes the lines of the buildings and the play of light on it. The cars are there to give a sense of scale, and gives the feeling that one is entering an urban canyon, which it is.
