Actually, I like yours better. The flames are better-shaped, and you don't have the lame fake carbon fiber underneath them. :)

a carbon fiber lens hood would be hot (not just cheap carbon fiber looking, but real carbon fiber.

I vote for yours. The flames are way better and you don't have the lame fake carbon fiber.

I personally think flames looks lame and cheap .... but that's me. The fake CF looks cool, but how much cooler would a REAL CF hood look. That would be ..... interesting, to say the least.

Actually I like Peter's idea of some sort of "stealth" coating. Some of these hoods are intrusive looking enough at a wedding. - Stu

For the weddings, have a hood that has flowers on it. :)

Now that's a great idea!

Most of my work takes me to high schools, the kids love the lens hood. The reaction from them is great, and it does something else, it puts me on an approachable level. They feel more comfortable around me.

So far nothing but positive response from it, I don't feel as if I attract any negative attention.

Company logos are also good for lens hoods. If you are sponsored by anyone, that is advertisement space. :p

The whole purpose of a lens hood is to prevent stray light entering the lens. So the inside is a non-reflective material like felt. But AFAIK, you can do with the outside what you want.

Not that I want burning flames on the lens hood of my lenses... they already get enough attention without this. A coating to make them LESS visible, now that's something I would pay for! :)

P.

Then just paint yours camo! You are sure to blend right in, problem solved :)

Sorry, I couldn't resist.
