Blue butterfly - lucky shot!

This was taken Saturday at the Detroit Zoo Butterfly House. The place was very crowded and I had to shoot through all the people ooh-ing and ahh-ing to get one quick shot before it flitted off. Turned out to be the best shot of the day.

Nice job on the capture, I would have cropped out the excess vegetation above the butterfly so that all the visual attention is on it.

Normally I would agree completely, but this pic was originally shot landscape with the butterfly very small in the frame ( I had to shoot through a milling herd of humans - LOL). Since a tight crop of the butterfly would have killed the quality I decided to make it more of a "picture with a butterfly" instead of a "butterfly picture" - if you know what I mean. To me, this one's more about the composition than the actual butterfly. Whether the composition works is another subject entirely, but at this point in my photographic learning curve, I kinda like it.
