http://www.cameralabs.com/reviews/Canon5D/page4.shtml (external link). I don't have a Canon 350D but this test show samples that look better to me than the 5D. I had planned to upgrade to something this year, but perhaps the 30D would be a better choice?? Would some of you equipment gurus take a look?

Huh? Looks to me like the 5D has the highest resolution of all the cameras tested in that report.

It seems that the first set of photos were shot in .jpg and compare the cameras default in camera processsing settings. If you took the same samples in raw and processed them yourself the results would be quite different I think.

I think the 1ds mkii is clearly better than the 350d, look at the detail in the circular windows at the top of the crop. Though I don't feel it's worth the extra money compared to the 5d, for my personal use anyway.

1Ds Mark II resolves most detail, 5D is close second.

The window test image and 17-40 images in http://www.cameralabs.com/reviews/Canon5D/page5.shtml (external link) is flawed. They seem to to have a 17-40 that is out of calibration (not unheard of).

Somethings wrong with the crops. How can all three cameras have similar crops when they are all difference (eg. 1.0, 1.6 crop). Somethings wrong with the test. See how there is blur in the MII. I just don't think it was done right. Maybe I just can't believe it.

its just a crappy test. the 1dsII is designed to be sharpened after the fact, while the consumer cams have more built in sharpening as is. who knows what paramaters were used.
