I have an EOS Rebel XT .... can't seem to figure out how to turn off flash. Page 47 tells what the camera will be set to when you go to the falsh off mode, but it does not explain how to turn the flash off.

I pushed every button twice, even took a hammer to it and it still flashes. Tries submerging it and dragging it with a rope from my car. Nothing seems to stop the flash, lol.

Simply tape gaffer tape over it, problem solved. Or try just pushing the flash back down into the body.

Did you try turning the dial to the Flash Off position?

A simple solution to stopping the flash from popping, Grab a hotshoe cap, some point and shoots that have hotshoes come with them, i just went to a retail store and asked if i could have the cap from their display, put the cap on, and the Camera will think an external flash is installed, problem solved...

That's funny... I've -never- gotten my flash to work. I always get that Err 99 error when the flash pops open. Luckily, so far, I've never wanted to use it.
