My camera and lenses will be here on Wednesday. I know you guys hear it all the time, but I am pretty excited. Got the 350D and the 70-200mm f/4 and the 50mm f/1.8, along with the necessary accessories. I am going to the Asian Festival in Columbus, so hopefully get some great shots with my new gear.

Your gonna have a blast with the new equipment. And not to shabby of a lineup to get started with either. Congrats.

Have you sorted out your memory cards? And an extra battery?
I would suggest though to take your time over each photograph, if you just blast away you'll easily fill a CF card with lousy pics that you'll have to waste time editing and deleting later. so pay attention to composition etc and try to develop your eye. If you haven't already that is!
You might find the 50 a bit long for street photography if it is your widest lens though. It is good for portraits as I'm sure you know, remember that at f/1.8 the depth of field is very narrow, so stop it down a bit. The 70-200 is a fantastic portrait lens at 70mm or longer, great if you have a bit of room.
If you've got any money left, I'd suggest consider a wide zoom for general walk about - the 17-40 L suits me fine but there are others with great reputations.
Regardless, go have some fun!
