More Iris - In their peak!

Here are some more shots from an early morning trip to the iris fields yesterday.

I like these much better than my previous attempts. What do you think?

I truly love the colors in the first shot but you needed to maximize the depth of field in my opinion to bring everything in focus. Maybe focus about where the pink iris's are and use around an f/16 aperture setting yet keeping the shutter fast enough to hand hold or use a tripod.

I really like the composition of #1. I agree with Bluedog, especially on #2. Both are decent shots though.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I really appreciate them. The DOF is intentional. I might go back and try some more with more DOF, but I wanted this effect when I took these. I wasn't sure how it'd work, but I kind of like it.

maybe you'll get another opportunity to take more shots there
sometimes a lesser area is better to photograph rather then the complete scene (as it appears in reality)
