I did some searching, which I probably should have done before asking, and found out about it. I wish it were available for the XT. Oh well... I guess I need to let my wife know that I need to upgrade to the 20D.

I informed my wife today that I needed to upgrade to a 20d. I'm working on a deal with a local shop. My brother wants to buy my current unit and a couple of other things I have, so my out of pocket cost will be minimal. I'll find out hopefully by tomorrow.

I really need a 20D!

I have hacked firmware! It allows 3200. Here's a shot I took on Sunday. I do have to do some serious PP to get rid of the noise

I'm guessing that's in your local area,
what/where is that, just a speed skating roller rink? (sorry we don't have those around here)

It is a roller skating rink, and the speed team practices there after their public session. Much like an indoor ice rink, basically it is a large building where they have an oval area with either a wooden floor, or cement floor that has been coated with a special polyeurethane covering to make it grip to the wheels. The coating is blue so it looks like ice. It is open during certain times of the day for any skating, but they reserve time for speed skating (inline wheels) artistic and figure skating.

I'm usually at 800-1600. The stuff I shoot is always in the dark for some reason. I rarely get to use ISO 100... :(

Ah painted roll on, the alternative to sportcourt, stood out to me cause I play adult competive roller hockey. It would be interesting to have these built for speedskating though, although I believe we're getting a new speed ice skating rink in this area due to the 2010 olympics. But yeah lots of our teams head down south for tournments.

Thanks for the info =)

Good Sun light I use 100 then increase to 200 when it gets a little cloudy, but use this generally most with good light.
Inside I use 200-400 most of the time.

I was always as a film camera user using an ISO between 100 and 200 to avoid the noise.

I have found on my 5D that I can shoot at ISO 500 and see almost no noise. In fact I shot a whole series of photographs using 500 and all came out with undetectable noise.

Don't get me wrong when the light is there I go back to something between 100 and 200. But 500 has given me the best range. Remember that is on a 5D.
