I just received my new/used 20d via UPS today. Can somebody tell me how to check the number of shutter actuations?

Thanks
Joann

Press playback (bottom left of back). Press info. A number will come up on the top right, in format xxx-xxxx. The last four should be how many clicks it's got, assuming no one ever reset the file number. Canon could tell you for sure.

What if you have more than 9,999 clicks?

Then take the first digit of the 3-digit group, subtract 1, and put it on the front.

Unfortunately, the information given so far is not complete.

It does not mention that it takes only 30 seconds to set the file number to any number you would like.

According to some sources, Canon can find out, but so far no method has been illustrated here for the prosumer cameras to really find out how many images were taken with a camera.

On the 1-series, it is possible, but not on the prosumer cameras.

some cameras, some lenses,
and still a lot of things to learn...
(so post processing examples on my images are welcome :D)
