Should I sell my 1D and 30D to get another 1DMIIN

I have not been using my 1D and 30D and had the notion of selling them to fund another 1DMIIN. I am leaning towards selling them at this point, just love the 1DMIIN. I figure I can get $2,700.00 for the two camera's which would leave me short $900.00 for a new 1DMIIN. What should I do

Do you do anything where a backup body is important? And are there any lens that you need left to fill your collection? I ask that, because you have two very capable cameras.

I am good on lenses for now, I was just thinking of selling these two camera's as I do not use them much and I am in absolute love with the 1DMIIN. High School Football Season starts in three months.........

Always good to have two bodies when you shoot sports, but then i don't know your lens setup. I'd say no, don't sell your two bodies, but that's me.

If the 1D and the 30D isn't being used anymore because you're always using the 1D2N, then it would make sense to sell them for another 1D2N, assuming both 1D2Ns will be seeing action. I personally would just sell the 1D and keep the 30D as the backup. That way, I can go "light" with the 30D when the need arises. As much as I like my 1D2, there are times when I prefer to have a lighter, more compact camera with me. Now that I think of it, that's exactly how I'm set up right now.

My ideal backup camera would be a 1D2N with a removeable grip!

How about selling the 2 cameras you have and buying a 5D to get the best of both worlds. I have both and love the option of FF for the close up sideline type shots where1.3x or 8.5 fps isn't needed.

If you're not using the bodies, sell them. They're depreciating by the hour.

Get a spare body if you need to have that kind of redundancy. As mentioned, a crop camera can be useful for those tele shots and a FF body would be good for landscapes, etc. But if you're not going to use them...

I love the 1D2N as well, it's just solid all around. I forsee quite a long relationship with mine.

I think the markIIN is a great choice. two identical bodies with the exact same interface means you can transfer settings between cameras, and you'll have no problems switching back and forth on the fly.

The 5D idea appeals to me too, but i'm not sure i would like the non-1 series body now that i've used my 1DMIIN for a while now. how about just letting go of the 1D and topping up the cash for a 1DMkII?

I'd go for a 5D. The FF and high-iso performance would be a great pairing with the N. If you don't need those attributes, then get the other N.

All cameras depreciate so don't let that be a factor.
Do you really need 2 cameras at a time?
Besides the conveniece, it really is a PITA to carry 2 cameras.
If you can use 1 and get all the shots that you need, go for the 1DIIN.
If you think you need a backup just in case, then its a tough call.
You may choose to keep one of the cameras that you already have.
Everyone has to decide for themselves as your requirement will be different than mine.
If money was not a factor, Ideally it would be good to have a 5D and a 1DIIN.

Yep. I would rather have the same body as a backup. It makes it easier to decided which lens to use on each camera... because it doesn't matter!
