Fair enough. I guess I can understand where you are coming from. One of the threads that I do not understand is the one about what mode one uses. A lot of people mention that they use Tv (or is it Av) so that they can stop the action. I say... one can do that in Manual mode as well.

Right on - me too! Bokeh refers to a quality of out of focus and is purely subjective. DOF refers only to what's in acceptable focus and what's not. It takes a high quality lens to achieve 'good' bokeh. DOF can be achieved with any piece of glass.
