A quick google search for "scrapbooking sketches" will turn up lots of page layout ideas that could be good inspiration for albums. Just like they sound, these are layout sketches. They're usually of square format layouts.

Here's one with sketches I've found to be more easily adaped to albums as they're more photo-centred than some:
