Leave the lens attached. If you only have one lens at this point, keeping it on all the time will help prevent dust from getting in the camera.

not a stupid question as there is no correct answer, it up to the user. most leave a lens on for convience or thats how most bags sotre the lesnes. but whatever you do, just make sure to keep something over the body, either a lens or cap. dust is your enemy.

Keep the lens always on..
Also, keep the Manual at hand at all times..

Welcome to the forum, btw!

Welcome to the forums! There are those here that will tell you to keep the lens in place at all times and that is pretty good advice. I try to keep a lens on my camera all the time so I can take pictures. I do put the camera in the bag frequently with no lens on it. That's what the plastic cap is for that came on the body. Just don't leave it lying about with nothing on it.

Keep the lens on. You never know when a shot might come along and you will need to be ready. I keep mine ready to go at a second's notice here at home as I never know what wildlife will wander through the yard.

Not a stupid question at all. Just leave the lens on whenever you are finished with the camera. There is no reason to take it off. This way you will be ready for shots at any time.

If your concern is that you are somehow hurting something by keeping the lens on, the answer is no. If you are going to be transporting the camera and don't need access to it, obviously, you'll probably disassemble and stow it away securely.

Enjoy!

3 good reasons NOT to remove your lens(es) too often:
to keep dust from the sensor
to keep dust from the sensor
to keep dust from the sensor

If you only have one lens and it's not a heavy lens that won't put too much strain on the lens mount, then leave it on. No real correct answer here, just what you want.

Count me in with the lot that keeps the lens on.
I keep mine on at all times. Partly to help keep the dust out and mostly to be ready for that shot that I hope will someday let me retire to nothing but photo taking.

Why wouldn't you keep the lens on? My lenses only come off the cameras so I can put other ones on.
