I gave it a try, I brightened the shadows in PSE2. I also moved the horizon down, out of the middle of the shot. See what you think.

I hope you will allow me another attempt, I am quite taken with this shot. I have cropped it to 8" X 10" (for printing and framing) and eliminated the distracting peat(?) in the foreground and increased the saturation a bit. I wager the owner of this animal would pay a fine price for a print of this photograph, it just has a grandeur about it, IMHO, both the ram and the countryside.

Great photo...!! Both crops look goos...a few more distractions in the 2nd but all part of the storey........

The first and last crop are my favourites. Somehow, the second crop does look a little tight for the animal and the backdrop hills.

Good shot. And a nice looking animal. How close were you to it?
