Here's a portrait of Eddie (our dog) which I took yesterday evening before sundown using natural window light. This past weekend was was Victoria Day weekend here in Canada, a time to celebrate with fireworks. As the fireworks banged all weekend, Eddie was busy hiding under the bed, in the closet and doing a lot of pacing and worrying. We picked him up at the city pound in August 2005 and I'm just wondering if he was teased or traumatized by fireworks by his previous owners. He was 3 years old when we adopted him.

Great shot of Eddie and the conversion is excellent. We have a thirteen year old Sheltie that we've had since he was a puppy and this was the thirteenth year in a row that he has hid under the bed at the cottage during our Victoria Day fireworks.....must be a dog thing!

That photo is amazing. Sharpness, DOF, composition... it's all good.

Beautiful shot. And no, dogs can be afraid of thunder/fireworks for no good reason at all. I've bred Great Danes for almost 20 years and had only one that was afraid of thunder/fireworks -- and she was with me from the moment she took her first breath. The other Danes always looked at her like she was an idiot when she got scared. In all other respects, she was the absolute alpha of the pack.

That's one beautiful b&w. Did you do much post processing on it?
