I wonder how many DSLR's a company would sell if it didn't have an LCD preview screen of any size for that ...

interesting... I've never wondered that.
Did you come up with an answer?

You can do that on 20D too. I don't turn on the quick control dial to select af point. I use the joystick. EDITING OF MY PHOTOS IS NOT ALLOWED

Yeah-- I usually have it either off, or on 2 seconds for a quick peep. I have the preview button on the center of the thumb wheel, so a more careful study is only a thumb away... 20D w/ BG-E2 & CA-PS400

I do that too. It's great. I wish my EOS3 had that for the 11 point mode (CF)! Although, I'm lucky that the eye control works great for me. Works great for most, but others not so much. I keep it set to 11 points and it's very reliable. 20D w/ BG-E2 & CA-PS400

I don't ever use my built in flash either, but I'm not gonna break it off. Like anything, you can damage it, if you put it through enough. The camera isn't that fragile, but my screen on my older cameras is just as suspectable if i slam the back into a surface. The cameras are built to take a certain amount of beating, but sometimes you might face problems. Go UCLA

As a working photographer, I'm pretty hard on my gear. Seems like the bigger screen is more easily damaged. To each his own... You can turn the LCD off so it does not light up everytime a picture is taken and then you must manually chimp. This is what I do. Saves battery power also. Doc Klepper in the USA

Had too many clicks to get a decent amount from it. I was gonna get a new 30D, but I found an ever so slightly used one, like new, with the grip, for less than a new body only, so obviously, I took it. Mac users swear by their computers.
