Well after suggesting Little river canyon I got the urge to go again to I took a drive out hwy 35 from Fort Payne until I crossed Little River Canyon, this was taken right where hwy 35 crosses the river. we went down hwy 176 following the river to Weiss Lake, wow I forgot how beautiful that ride was! anyway here is one shot I got.

B.T.W. Desoto Falls was kinda underwhelming, it is a deep canyon fall but you cant get to a good place for pictures.

Well at Desoto you just have to walk all the way around and to the bottom. And when I say walk I mean climb and hike...

I looked at that trail or I should say I wasn't sure it was a trail and it had a few hundred foot drop to the left if you weren't sure footed  so having the wife with me I used her as an excuse not to. unless you another way down?

It has been awhile, but I think you have to walk across the top of the dam and there should be a trail to take you down to the sandy part at the very bottom. I ended up climbing down a hundred feet or so to the sandy part at the bottom of the falls, but later found out that the path will take past it and then back to it and is easier than the climb.

Anybody up for some shooting within the next month. I need to get out and shoot something for pure fun, no pressure, possibly landscape, maybe in or near water to cool off in, within an hours drive of Bham.

Scott, what date? BTW, I will be uploading the Alabama Theater Photos to my proofing site tomorrow. How did the Catholic church photos look?

Here is one outside the theater...

Set something up  a photo walk would be kinda cool. This time of year is just busy, college football, holidays, etc.

Hi, I just found this thread. My name is Roger Smith and I am from Cullman, Alabama. Since retirement I have spent most of my time as a woodworker mostly wood turning.

I got interested in photography by making pictures of my product to sell over the internet. This past year, I spent about much time on photography as I did woodworking. My interest in photography are wildlife/nature, baseball and landscapes. I will bookmark this thread and will try to join you on any get-togethers.

Roger

Mostly curly maple (some call it tiger maple) with two black walnut accent strips. All of the maple came from one board. It is for sale.
