some amazing shots here. Mr. UPS just dropped off my brand new 24-70, and I can't wait to see what it can do. (unfortunately at work right now and they would probably frown upon me if I decided to wander outside for a while lol).

it is a hefty one...I was so used to using my 17-40 f/4 l all of the time, that as soon as I put the 24-70 on and zoomed in, I had a little bit of trouble keeping it steady lol.

Haven't used my brick for a while...Been infatuated with my primes lately....A few from a local park the other day..Forgot how sharp this lens is.

Love this shot, I'm always taking shots of my guitars, different angles, different DOF's...This one is perfect.

I think I may be one of the unlucky few...it seems soft at 24mm @ 2.8, but sharp at 70mm @ 2.8 :-(

unfortunately the 40D doesn't have the micro adjustment capability.

it's brand new, UX date code, so it's got the 1 year warranty. of course I've read horror stories on this forum where people sent their lens in and it came back worse than before. there aren't really any camera shops in my area (a couple but expensive), so it's a bit frustrating to not be able to test out a lens before I buy it.

got a warranty, ship it in. On my 16-35, I did not bother to even put it on the camera, I just shipped it straight to Canon when it arrived to let them make sure it was right...

After my 10-22 doing this and it being free under warranty, why not just make sure. It was worth it to me.

here's what I was talking about.

I'm at work, so I don't have much to work with as far as testing, but this was the logo on a photocopier.

ISO was at 400

I got it from Adorama. In the past, I had bought a refurb 40D, and it was horrible, but they were great about sending me a packing label for it, and promptly sent me a replacement.

I'm debating whether to try sending it back to them for a replacement, or try sending it to Canon. I'd get the replacement from Adorama faster than if I sent it to Canon for their 7-10 business day turnaround.
