Wow! Very nice "shot", Silenced.

So how'd you do it? The exif shows 1/2 sec at f/2.8, iso 800, wide at 24mm. My question is specific to timing. How'd you coordinate the shutter and the trigger? My inclination would have been to shoot it as fireworks, iso 100, f/11 or so, 24mm certainly, and B for shutter speed. I'd open the shutter and have my friend shoot.

I had the camera all setup so that all my friend had to do was to focus on me with a flash light. Turned off the light, hit the shutter and shoot 1 round. We had to do a couple of shots to get it down. My friend not being very familiar with composition, at first he had me in the middle of the frame with the flash cut off.

I have a couple of shots at ISO100, while it might produce the highest image quality, as everyone knows, you need more light too. I had a couple of shots at ISO 100 and it was still dim, even in PP, brightening them up added a lot of noise. I would imagine closing down the aperture and shooting at ISO100, would have produced a much darker image. In PP, all I did was to adjust the WB and stepped up the brightness about 1 stop.

That newspaper backdrop is badass, reminds me of the comic book corner in RWJ's videos.

I'm new to the forum, this is my first post. I just searched 24-70 to begin with because I just ordered mine from B&H. Will be here tomorrow. I can't wait. I got my 50D with 28-135 in October last year from Adorama and have been waiting to get this lens. I know it's not the 5D but having used L lenses for the first time lately that's all I'll buy. Looking foreward to this forum.

It may not be a 5D but it's a very fine camera all the same....and in the end, it's your vision that selects the images! Plenty of time for other cameras...now's the time to be developing that vision, and the "brick" is as good a lens as any to start with.

I look forward to seeing some of your work. Have fun, and welcome!

Growing old disgracefully!
