Wasssup with the yellow claws? (cool shot, looks pissed)

I'm pretty sure those are claw covers. They stop kitty from damaging things :)

Right, so I'm thinking of getting this lens. I have a 7D, with the following lenses: 18-135 IS, 50mm 1.4, 10-22 USM. There have been some comments about how the 17-55 would be a better choice for a cropped body, but as I already have a wide angle, I don't see the need for the 17-55, especially since I'll probably eventually get a FF in the next 5 years or so. Any thoughts?

I've found the 17-55 and the 24-70 to be pretty comparable in IQ. You get more reach from the 24-70 (especially on a crop), but you pickup IS on the 17-55. Five years is quite a long time to plan out a body switch, but yes; if you bought the 17-55 it'd be useless on a FF camera. The price difference could also be a factor between the two lenses. Also the 10-22 is not as fast a lens as either the 17-55/24-70 and both also are fixed aperture which is waaaay more convenient when shooting with a zoom.

Oh yeah, both the 17-55 and the 24-70 are pretty sharp wide open at f2.8, sharper than your 10-22 at f3.5.

Great shot, but the priest and bride are really standing close and the suggestion is not good haha. Great expressions.

Build your system for now and the future. FF lenses will prob always be here, crops sensors, i'm not sure but you can sell a FF lens to anyone. A crop lens is limited to those who own crop. The 24-70 is top notch!
