It's a crazy world.
A Ski resort next to a desert.

I suppose those running the economy in the UAE are considering a future without oil., ie tourism.

Don't think they're going to run out of oil over there anytime soon! Interesting to see that place, alot has been built since I last went (dad works in Abu Dhabi), hopefully will be going in a few months.

That is wild!! But I know it worked well for Canada with the Edmunton mall. That place has a indoor water park, amusement park and a mall. But that looks spectacular. If I lived there I would be in that place all the time and from the pics my son took while he was in the UAE the rest of that place is beautiful.

Americans should get free passes as part owners. LOL Wonder if they imported polar bears.

I went snowboarding there for the fun of it last year...too short though, is but an expensive novelty. I think it was like 120 durhams (30+US) for a couple hours...again...just too short of a run....

and I suck, been in the desert too long...ran into the orange safety fencing on the left side and rolled the rest of the way to the bottom one too many times...they try and make you take lessons if you eat snow too many times...

I just read about this in my National Geographic Traveler magazine. Very neat to see more pictures of it! I suppose if you live in a country with no snow, this is the only way you would get to experience it without traveling.
