Just got my 20D. Love it. I've been messing with the settings a bit. What custom sets (parameters) do people like and why? I haven't messed with that and really don't know the benefits of doing so. Any help, advice, links etc. would be appreiated. Thanks!

4-1 is often nice (not so necessary for flash photography). It separates AF and exposure lock - you don't have to AF every time to take a picture.

mirror lockup + timer is nice for long exposures using a tripod

For action shooting (concerts), I like to use safety shift + shutter priority to achieve the smallest aperture for a given shutter speed OR the fastest shutter speed for the largest aperture of the lens if the dialed shutter speed is too fast for the largest aperture for the present lighting situation.

Thanks for the suggestions. Can you elaborate on the third suggestion? Benefits, how to do it, etc.?

I usally put the shutter speed around 1/125 sec (or even faster). If there's enough light that shutter speed will be used and the camera will calculate the proper aperture. If there is not enough light (eg. the largest aperture isn't sufficient for a proper exposure with the given shutter speed), shutter speed will be slower. With a fast, not-wide lens (55mm f/1.4 or 85mm f/1.8 in my case), the largest aperture produces so shallow DOF that I would like to have a smaller aperture. Shutter priority + safety shift gives me that IF there's enough light.
