These wonderful flowers were shot with a 200 F2.8 and 1.4 x converter (pink) on a rainy day last week and the 400 F5.6 on a sunnier day (Red) 2 days ago. Hope you enjoy and comments and critiques are welcome.

Columbine are not easy to photograph because of their layers of depth.
You did a nice job.

Thanks for the feedback! The 1.4X converter gives the lens an additinal focal length multiplied by 1.4. So the 200mm F2.8 I was using with it becomes a 280 mm lens and is slowed down by 1 F stop so it is now an F4 lens. The Canon 1.4X is a great converter for telephoto lenses.

Also a big thanks to David and Stan for looking and commenting.:D

Thanks Dennis and these are from our garden. My wife is more passionate about gardenning than I am about photography. I think she has been trying to turn our yard into a National Park.....and I think she is succeeding

After taking the first shot, I backed off and took the longer view in #4, I am not sure shich one I like best. I do like these flowers though as they take on very different characteristics depending on the lighting and angle of view. Here are 2 more from this evening as the light was filterd through the canopy in the trees above this part of the garden.

And thanks very much Elisabeth-Ann , Dimitri and Eric for looking and commenting.:D
