Converting photo into a 'sketch'

Most conversation here on the forum is about RAW, calibration, printing etc. What about digital photo effects?

I tried to write a series of tutorials on various photo effects like 'sketch', 'infrared', 'lythography', 'engraving', beautiful frames and others.

Here are the first three parts of 'sketching' tutorial series:

Introduction (some real sketches analysis) (external link)

The 'classical' Photoshop sketch technique (external link)

'Natural' Photoshop sketch technique (external link)

This are my first online Photoshop tutorials, I will appreciate any feedback!

p.s. I hope it's not 'offtopic' here?
