I have just purchased 5D and I am havng problems connecting it to my computer. I tried so far 2 PCs and 1 G5 Mac .. same problem
I checked firmware all upto date 1.1.0 .. I installed software ... I installed latest RAW for Photoshop CS2 ... no luck ...
it works for the first time I install driver and connect the camera ...I can transfer and see it as a folder .... second time I connect it ... computer just doesn't detect the camera. Happen 3 times in a row with 3 computer and since first attempt each computer doesn't see the camera at all ??? I can't transfer my shots and I am not able to find any help for this bizzare problem.
Can someone help me please ??

"Error Camera is busy and cannot communicate, clear if cameras LCD monitor
is displayed" ??? - that's the message on G5

Camera is brand new and as i sadi works only vry first time then I get this error ... I made sure camera was set to PC connect ...
I am puzzled ...

I had the same problem. Then I went back and reinstalled all software on the disk. It seems I hadn't installed the twain driver which sees the camera when connected to the computer. Now all is fine. You might want to go to the bebit site and just download the twain driver. Here is the link.

Good luck

Is there a reason you are not using a card reader to download your images off of your card?

In reading posts here and elsewhere I discovered that the overwhelming majority of photographers simply use a card reader. It is less hassle and also bypasses those types of issues which your refer to it.

most card readers are quite inexpensive now.

my two cents worth...
