I am trying to make my first asuka book and there is a download template that from asuka books that pops up in photoshop. How do I get my picture in that template? When I open a picture in photoshop it comes up as a separte box. Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I really can't figure it out.

Thanks,

- Joanna

You can copy and paste the picture into the template file (provided by Asuka) as a layer. That'll allow you to adjust its properties.

No offence intended, but if you're struggling at this stage in the procedure you may need to either get a designer to put it together for you or grab some books/do a course.

I am finding asuka to be a lot of stuffing around which is why i am thinking of staying within momento.....it takes max 6 hrs to do a book in momento.

Get a beginner photoshop book. Quick tip: copy and paste, Control-T to transform.

I didn't find asuka all that difficult to do in photoshop. I know photoshop pretty well, but I'm certainly no PS expert. I did my first 40 slider, in about 6 hours. ...not including the upload process. ;) Granted it was my first book and probably not as good as Tim's, but the B&G loved the layout. I would add, "Control-A" to Tim's list...then Control-C, Control-V and Control-T. :)

thanks for all the comments. I tried copying and pastin but when I right click on the box it only lets me zoom in zoom out etc. I'll try again.

I guess I will have to, I just thought I'd throw the quick question out there. I thought everyone helps each other out here.

check my post Joanna. Don't right click to copy and paste. You have to have something selected first.

What I am getting at is that Photoshop is a massive application that dedicated professionals (such as myself) have spent years learning.

If you are having difficulty copying a layer from one file into another, you are well below basic Photoshop knowledge - hence the idea of you working your way through an entire AsukaBook design is somewhat ambitious.

I'm all for helping, I've spent hours creating Photoshop tutorials over in the Post Process forum. I'm encouraging you to get some good books and/or do a short course, as even the most helpful online hints probably won't give you what you need to complete the job at hand.

Good luck with it!

Thanks, So I got it to work but when I try to upload 3 photos it takes FOREVER! Is this normal? I finally closed it out because it seemed hopeless.

i know photoshop i have been working with graphics at my work for about 6 years now, so i started out with photoshop 5.0 LE and worked up to CS2 this year.
But i havent looked into asuka properly just yet, i downloaded the templates but they got lost, i found 1 so i opened it and then i went "UGH" and didnt give it a try lol
Im lazy....so i stuck with momento - at least until i am moved properly to the city and based from there - right now i am working around about 30 packing box's and my house is a STY lol so thats why i havent taken time out to look at it properly yet.

IN the directions under "get started" it says to place order. It then gives me three boxes to browse for my picture files. AM I totally doing it all wrong?
