Caught in the act - in my neighbour's garden. I can see their cherry tree from our window, so while they were out.......;) C&C welcome. Made with 300D and 75-300mm @ 300mm, converted in photoshop 7

That's really nice. Love the effect.

I will arise and go now, and go to Innisfree,
And a small cabin build there, of clay and wattles made:
Nine bean-rows will I have there, a hive for the honey-bee,
And live alone in the bee-loud glade. -Yeats

Great shots, I like them both. I think I like the first one better, with the leaves and the cherries in the seond one, it could easlily be passed over as a color shot I think. Could you do one with number one but also add the color back to the gold ring on the hand? I'm curious as to how that would look.
Thanks for posting, these are wonderful...

Both images are interesting. My first reaction again is "Nice" sharp and so simple. Love it, as well. Great job in PP and capture.

Thank you all for the great comments - my wedding band, alas, is not yellow gold, so that won't work, but now that DigitalMDX has made the comment, I can visualize how it would look, and you are right, it would make an interesting addition to #1. Maybe I'll try the shot again, so long as my neighbour doesn't think I AM stealing his cherries!! :D

Both are quite nice but the first one works for me . Beautiful!! Are you using layers or history brushing the cherries or some other technique?

Gary, I always use a layer, never work on the original photo. I desaturated a duplicate layer, then history brushed the colour back in. For the gold ring I used the paint brush at 50% opacity, with the blend mode set at colour burn. Too lazy to go and take the shot again with a gold ring! Besides, couldn't find one that fit!
