I am using a D20 and am unable to downlaod RAW images to my PC with the supplied Canon software. It works with a card-reader but not otherwise. Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions?....JRH

Have you tried uninstall/reboot/reinstall of Canon's software? Have you updated to the latest versions of Zoom Browser, EOS Utilities, and the drivers (XP? W2K? Something else?)? Jon

Why the heck didn't you call canon and get all pissy with them? there are telephone numbers associated with canon and technical support. try checking your manual for the number closest to you. Dante

"Canon's software for post-processing isn't robust or good, for that matter. You'd be better suited to purchase, at least, Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0 which I believe supports RAW images".......I used Adobe 4.0 but to no avail...and it was a hooligan of a programme, hoovering up every attachment and document sent to me.

Thanks for your reply Dante King.......I emailed Canon several times but they just say that their software works and they can't help. I always drink decaff. I'm sure that the problem is really basic, but I am no nearer working it out...but thanks for your helpful response.

I had no trouble downloading from any of my cameras directly, although I use card readers since I use CF cards for other things as well, and since a card reader's the only way to get a new firmware onto the CF card when Canon releases an update for the camera. Canon's software works as advertised for me, and for many others on here. When I use different tools, it's because I want additional bells and whistles, like using PhotoShop CS II instead of PS Elements 3. Jon
