I have for two years now been pondering the move to a dSLR. I have read up on everything I could in that time period. I have almost purchased a new camera on at least two occasions. All the time, I have been trying to justify the cost to myself. Trying to allow myself to hit the "Place Order" button. Finally, I did it today. The following are on their way:

Canon EOS 30D Body
Canon EF24-105mm f4L IS
Canon EF 28mm f1.8

Oh, happy day:) I've been using my trusty G3 for three years now. It's been a good camera, but some of the quirks of P&S have continued to annoy me: slow to turn on, slow to focus, and difficulty focusing in low light. I've been using the thing only in P, Av, Tv, and M mode for some time now and I recently started taking the time post process RAW pictures, so I think I'm ready to try the dSLR world.

Reading this forum has been very educational. Now that I'll own a 30D, I'll actually be able to apply more of what I read!:)

EOS 7D, EF 24-105mm f/4L IS, EF 28mm f/1.8, EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5, EF 50 f/1.4, EF 70-200mm f/2.8 IS

If you do take action on this - you will have one of the best Summers ever.

A 40D, a 30D, some nice glass and a great Shooting Partner.
