Ihave to take some models at a park next week and wanted toknow what all I needed. I have a canon 20d and the basic lens that comes with it. I also have the 580 flash. Do I need anything else. Please help.

You might consider using reflectors to make the most of the natural light.

If you use the "psmar" coupon code, the Impact 5-in-1 42" reflector is the best buy out there, $35! It's a great reflector and only $8 more than the 32" reflectors. I love it, and its a great buy. http://www.bhphotovideo.com …EG&addedTroughType=search (external link)

Here is a sample of an outdoor shoot with studio lights. if this is what you are looking for letme know. I can give you some hinters. Otherwise... you can go for the "natural" light look with reflectors.

Keep in mind that those reflectors need some means of positioning and support which means more cost in grip equipment if you're working alone. If you have an assistant to hold the reflector a simple piece of white foamcore will do. A 4X8 foot sheet runs about $10.00 at any art supply store.

What are you using in the studio?
What are you trying to get outside? what kind of results?
When during the day is the shoot going to be?
What is the budget?
Do you know how you'd light in in the studio to get the results you want?

That is exactly what I am talking about. Whatever help you can give me I would appreciate it.

Inside the sutdio I have a slave flash system with the umbrella. It has 400 watts and it has two flashes. It works okay. I was trying to shoot outside around 2:00 in the afternoon. My budget is like two hundred dollars.

your 400 might be a little under power to be a main light in a bright sunny day. The shot abot was used with a 1600 alien bees in with a large softbox with out the front baffle. It was shot around 6pm, as sun was about 1 hour from setting.

Here's one taken in late afternoon with the sun behind the model. I used a full lenght reflector to throw some light on her. I am just beginning to work with reflectors, but having a lot of fun.

Thanks Tareq. It was just a demo shot. We walked out of the studio where we were shooting and did a couple of fast shots in the parking lot.
