Well I must say, Bob, you certainly jumped into digital with both feet. From 35mm film to Canon's digital big gun. Fun times are ahead.

I gave one of your jpegs a quick tweak.

Oops, put up the wrong one.

Enjoy your new digital world. You can create anything that your mind comes up with! You're gonna love it! Here is an adaptation of your photo. Just to show you some fun you can have!

By the way, is this a shot of your backyard?

LOL - Close, but not quite. We live in a small, gated community in Fort Myers. The fountains and little gardens are everywhere. This one is about 200 yards from my house, but there are many around here. I have a nature preserve that backs up to my house, so lots of wildlife around here.

I love how you all just took the hot spots right out of this shot! This is soooo cool. Going big gun was a no brainer for me. I've been shooting F-1s for 30 years, and have about 20 different L series lenses in the FD format (most of them acquired in the past 5 years or so thanks to e-bay). I believe that if you have the means, go as high end as you can. It will reward you long-term.

Welcome to the world of digital photography, where the possibilities are endless. There's so much to learn, and its a blast doing it. I'm finding that you almost have to be as competent in PhotoShop as you are with a camera these days. The two go hand in hand.

Keep playing with Photoshop, as it will really allow you to take shots that you otherwise thought were ruined, and turn them into something completely different. Here's my meager attempt at fixing up your photo. The .psd looked much better than this .jpg

how did you brighten up the corners like that using photoshop? i have a few photos that have the same problem. do you think you could fill me in? PM me please as i don't check the forums too often. Thanks.
